It was a beautiful day for the 2021 American Legion Memorial Day program at Prospect View Cemetery on Monday, May 31. The program was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, a large crowd was present. Following the program at Prospect View, the Pierce American Legion Honor Guard, pictured above, visited local cemeteries and the Gilman Park Legion Memorial honoring those that served and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms all Americans enjoy today with a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps at each site. The Memorial Day address given by Zion Lutheran Church Vicar Travis Henry during the program is published here.
