Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot Saturday, June 19

Brandon Gerdes was a Junior at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln when he was killed in a semi-truck accident on December 6, 2016. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He was just starting his own farm/ranch operation and truly loved the land. Brandon was a friend to all who knew him, and he continues to be missed.
The 5th annual Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot is set for June 19, at the Northeast Nebraska Shooting Association located north of Pierce. Direction signs will be posted. Event registration begins at 10:00 a.m. with shooting starting at 11:00 a.m.
Reservations can be made on the Brandon Gerdes Memorial Trap Shoot Facebook page. Payment is required at the time of registration by using Venmo or contacting a committee member.
Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the day, along with the Silent and Live Auctions at the conclusion of the day. Committee members are currently collecting raffle prizes, auction items, and cash donations. If you have not been contacted and would like to contribute, contact Lisa Gerdes (402-750-6448) or Susanne Penne (402-841-1911). All donations, no matter the size, come together to promote great things in Brandon’s memory.
Last year, proceeds from the event were donated to area ministerial groups that had seen an increase in requests due to the pandemic. Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings, a backpack program providing needed nutrition to food disadvantaged children, was also supported by the proceeds. This year, Brandon’s Bushel of Blessings along with local Teammates Programs will be receiving donations.
Spectators are welcome, so bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day while honoring Brandon’s memory. It is a day Brandon would love.
Tinker’s Concessions will be available during the event as well as serving the evening meal.
