K. Shada Wins Half-Marathon

Willow Creek State Recreation Area was the site of the “No Shame Shindig” put on by Jeremy Nicolosi of Beast Trail Racing on Saturday, June 27. This was the second year Willow was chosen as the site for this event and participants could choose to do a half-marathon (13.1 miles), marathon (26.2 miles), 50K (31.07 miles) or 50 mile run.
All races started at 6:00 a.m. on the north side of the lake in the picnic area just west of the boat ramp.
Kendall Shada opted for the half-marathon and completed his race in one hour and 26 minutes, breaking the previous course record by nine minutes.
Kendall will be entering his senior year at Pierce Jr/Sr High School and is the son of Gary and Deadra Shada.
