“Sponsor A Piece Of The Court” Campaign Launched As Final Phase of Chilvers Park 2.0

The Pierce Advancement Committee (PAC) and the Chilvers Park 2.0 Committee are inviting community members, businesses, organizations, and supporters to help complete the next phase of the Chilvers Park 2.0 project through the newly launched “Sponsor a Piece of the Court” Campaign.
The campaign will help fund the construction of a new basketball court at Chilvers Park, scheduled for completion this fall. The basketball court represents a major component of the Chilvers Park 2.0 vision, joining the recently completed splash pad and existing pickleball courts to create a recreation destination for the Pierce community. The new court will set just east of the pickleball/tennis courts and south of the new splash pad.
Community members can sponsor a 10-square-foot section of the basketball court for $25 (Sponsor as many sections as you want!). The 50-foot by 84-foot court will consist of approximately 4,200 modular athletic tiles, divided into 420 sponsorship sections.
“From the very beginning, Chilvers Park 2.0 has been driven by community support,” said Mandi Jablonski of the Pierce Advancement Committee. “The splash pad, pickleball courts, and now the basketball court are all examples of what can happen when residents, businesses, organizations, and donors work together toward a common goal. This campaign gives everyone an opportunity to be part of completing the project.”
The basketball court will provide a free, accessible recreational space for youth, families, and residents of all ages.
Earlier this year, the City of Pierce was awarded a grant through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF) to support construction of the basketball court. Combined with generous private donations and community fundraising efforts, the project is closer to completion.
The goal of the Sponsor a Piece of the Court Campaign is to secure sponsorships for all 420 sections of the court.
